The Modern-Shed dwelling on wheels (DW) combines attention to detail with functionality. A standing seam metal exterior contrasts with a birch veneer plywood interior. Large windows throughout the space provide natural light, bringing the outside in. Integrated storage and sleeping solutions provide a seamless experience. The open gable structure is made possible through a hybrid metal and wood frame. ZipWall sheathing and spray insulation achieve incredible energy efficiency and durability. Other features include a composting toilet, solar energy system and wood-burning stove. Modern-Shed DW can be configured in a variety of layouts, depending on the intended use.

Designed during a 15 minute sprint, Pila elevates the table coaster, incorporating a minimal aesthetic with honest materials and ergonomic functionality. Machined from solid White Oak, Pila’s base provides a beautiful storage solution for coasters when not in use. The coasters are polyethylene terephthalate (PET) felt, which is made from recycled water bottles, providing durability and sustainability. The edge of each coaster has a 45 degree bevel, which creates grip and visual separation when stacked. Pila’s clean appearance and transparent functionality make it useful, understated and beautiful, adding value to any environment in which it’s placed.
The Acoustic Shade represents the culmination of classic aesthetic and modern functionality. Designed over a one-year period at LightArt in Seattle, the Acoustic Shade is an elegant noise-reducing solution that complements any space. The 14-gauge steel chassis requires no specialty assembly techniques and joins together with slotting. The Sola Felt double wall shades that clad the chassis are able to bend effortlessly through V-cutting, eliminating the need for heat-shaping. Everything is brought together with a two piece core that is home to the fixture’s light source. The Acoustic Shade is available in five sizes and 15 colors.

Designed over a two-year period at LightArt in Seattle, Acoustic Drums and Boxes provide a functional approach to architectural acoustic solutions. Sola Felt sections are precisely cut using a digital cutting system and fastened together with steel strong backs. A frosted acrylic diffuser provides a balanced light output, while helping fixtures retain shape. The interiors of these fixtures contain additional felt baffling, for added acoustic value. Future service of these fixtures is made convenient through a removable aluminum lid, allowing complete interior access. Acoustic Boxes are available in 12 sizes and Acoustic Drums are available in eight sizes, while both are available in 15 colors.

Designed, built and installed during a one week period at LightArt, the cardboard shelving system is a simple, environmentally conscious alternative to traditional shelving systems. Each shelving unit is comprised of two cores, six shelves and two drawers, designed to optimize storage. Each component is constructed from Hexacomb Falconboard and precisely cut via Zünd, allowing for a precise slotting construction that requires no glue or specialty fasteners. Shelving units are joined to one another via aluminum cup-point set screws and joint connector nuts, providing safety and the option for future expansion.
A collaborative project with Microsoft that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and a strategic layout to create multiple levels of involvement for both dogs and their owners. Composed of a Connection Trail and numerous arenas, dogs and their owners can focus on everything from agility training to early socialization and water activities. An overall circular shape with frosted acrylic barriers provides a tranquil environment.
The Connection Trail, which borders the arenas in a circular formation, utilizes an intertwined path and dense foliage to allow dogs to become acclimated to one another. The intertwined paths also allow the dogs to familiarize themselves with each other’s scents, while still maintaining a reasonable distance, a technique known amongst trainers as “parallel walking”. After taking a walk along the trail, suggestions are then made as to the best arena(s) for each dog and the most compatible dog(s) currently playing at the park.
Modern. Fun. Sleek. Piedi combines a powder-coated steel frame with warm maple wood to create an inviting silhouette that can seamlessly blend in or boldly stand out, depending on the color choice. The convertible stool offers a cleanly- crafted drawer that can be removed if desired, or be filled with magazines, craft supplies, pillows—anything the heart desires. The small foot detail running throughout the collection weaves the pieces together, and is referenced in the name—Piedi means “foot” in Italian.
A collaborative project that required a clock, either desktop or wall-mount application, to be constructed from cardboard and a quartz movement. The final model also had to incorporate serial planes in the overall design and a flat pack shipping method that could be assembled by the individual purchasing it. We selected a desktop application and chose to focus on the challenge of visibility. We also wanted a final model that could be assembled by hand without the use of glue or tape. Our final model featured a cardboard friction hinge, enabling visibility from all angles, assembly/care instructions etched on the reverse side of the face and a flat pack shipping method that fit onto a single sheet of 18” x 24” cardboard.
Designed and rendered for a Render Weekly prompt. The Halo Floor Lamp features a frosted acrylic diffuser, a single-piece bent tube frame and a solid maple base. The final concept was modeled in Rhino and rendered in Keyshot over a 48 hour period.
